When Mel and Paul purchased their four bedroom 1930’s property in September 2014 it had already been modernised and extended. However, it had only two log burners and some cheap panel heaters as a means of heating the property.

There was no gas available for Mel and Paul to use and they were against the idea of including an oil fired system with a big ugly oil tank design. The couple investigated the possibility of installing a biomass heating system or heat source pump, but ultimately neither was of suitable use for their particular needs. They also considered night storage heaters as a form of electric central heating but previous experience suggested these would not be the right solution.

While searching for alternative electric central heating solutions on the internet Mel and Paul discovered Ecowarm and the German electric storage radiators the company provides.

They liked the contemporary look of these radiators and the fact that they boast the most advanced modern technology from Germany. Shortly after requesting a brochure Mel and Paul booked a survey in which a Ecowarm surveyor visited their home.

The couple were very impressed with both the product and the surveyor, Rupert Lock, who demonstrated an in-depth knowledge of electric central heating systems. Rupert listened carefully to their requirements before proposing a comprehensive heating solution.

Mel and Paul were very happy with Rupert’s proposal and they appreciated his gentle approach with its no high pressure sales tactics. The order was placed and the wheels were set in motion.

Approximately six weeks later the installation was carried out over the course of a single day. With no mess or fuss the finished job boasted an aesthetic that is very complimentary to the contemporary tone of couple’s home.

Mel and Paul chose to include the Ecowarm ‘Heatapp’ control system in their electric central heating set-up as it allows for a remote and wireless approach to controlling home heating temperatures, along with electronic timing abilities. Despite some initial teething problems with setting it up, the system has proven easy to use for the couple.

This is what Mel and Paul had to say about their Ecowarm experience:

“We were very happy with the service from Ecowarm. From Rupert’s initial visit, during which he explained in depth what the heaters were all about, the whole process was simple and pain free. There was never a “hard sell”, just information. The heaters were fitted with the minimum of fuss and disruption. The fitters were on time, tidy, and didn’t leave until we were happy, we never felt rushed. We had a couple of teething problems with the Heatapp, but to us, it’s the way a company sorts out problems that is key, and Ecowarm were exemplary in this respect.”
